Maurice Robert "Bob" Wiegand

1951 - 2001

Maurice Robert Wiegand known to his family and friends as Bob was a quiet kind of guy with a great sense of humor. He was born in Rochester NY the first child of John A Wiegand and Pauline E Moskowitz. He developed a love of the water there and in Rhode Island where his family moved in the late 1950s. He learned the piano at an early age and joined a band in high school. He and Jenny Krupp met in Illinois during high school and married in 1975. He was well liked and accepted as a brother by the whole Krupp clan. He and Jenny moved to his beloved Rhode Island where he joined the well know band PF and the Flyers as their keyboard man. They had 2 sons and after moving several times ended up in California with a successful golf equipment company. Bob was well liked and respected by his many friends and business associates and continued to play music whenever he could, often playing for his golfing friends at the trade shows he attended. He was a devoted husband and father who coached various sports teams over the years. He played gigs with his son Jon who played the bass, and loved golfing with his son Andrew. He died in October 2001 after battling cancer for several months. His fellow musicians made his service which was overflowing with mourners a truly unforgettable experience.
